STUDIO NOMAD

需求

Demand

1. Mobile. It must be marvelous for designers and makers to have an office that is moveable. It will definitely save time and have efficiency if all the stuff could be taken with you: table, computer, books, drawings, etc. Meanwhile, if the surroundings could also be shifting during working time, that would be enjoyable. 2. Independence. Traditional office provides sharing space while ignores privacy. Yet, it is getting more important since the number of independent designers and creators is increasing. Indeed, an independent private space makes the user feel more secure, comfortable and free.

3. Community. Community is still desirable. If individuals are still connected to a group when enjoying private space, they will get a balance between self and others.

Design

1. This proposal combines studio with a mobile kiosk to create a “Nomadic Studio”. Nomadic studios are scattered on the green of central park. People can ride them when migrating or wandering, and can anchor when working. 2. Each studio is designed according to the one-person scale, only for one individual to work here. The studio could be completely enclosed or interact with outside through the doors and windows.

3. With modulus unit, the studios are able to be connected to a group, further to form a neighborhood. Therefore, the nomadic studio is flexible and variable for both gathering and separation.
