Covered Bridge at Maigaoqiao Street, Nanjing

Differentiated from other bridges that are rising by the river, this covered bridge is hung beneath the ground. The bridge roof is the extension of the road, and the bridge body is a space for resting. It is a complex of transport, landscape and architecture. On one hand, it rebuilds a landscape axis by connecting the two sides of the river and reshaping the square, which generates a hub of the park. On the other hand, it constructs a public facility with dynamic space under wood-steel structure, for people to relax, read or be sheltered, as a temporary home in the city.
